3Method
For the Slaw
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, salt, Halifax Stingin' Hot Chili Garlic Sauce , rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Using clean hands or tongs, thoroughly mix and massage the cabbage for 2–3 minutes until it begins to soften and absorb the dressing.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavours to develop.
For the Shrimp
- In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp, Stingin' Hot Chili Garlic Sauce, smoked paprika, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Toss until the shrimp are evenly coated.
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently to ensure even cooking.
- If the pan becomes dry, add a small splash of water to deglaze and prevent sticking.
- Once the shrimp are fully cooked and opaque, add the cold butter to the pan.
- Swirl the pan gently until the butter has completely melted and created a glossy sauce that coats the shrimp.
- Remove the shrimp from the heat immediately.
Assembly
- Arrange the chilled slaw on a serving platter or divide among individual plates.
- Top with the warm shrimp and spoon any remaining butter sauce over the top.
- Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
